Retail Shop at 1, Silver Street, Ottery St. Mary, Devon This is open on weekdays between 9.00am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.30pm. On Saturdays, the opening hours are 9.00am - 1.00pm and 2.30pm - 4.30pm. We always have fully qualified staff available to advise you. As you will see, being rather old-fashioned, we believe in taking a lunch break. Furthermore we do not open on Sundays!
Restaurant Wine List Printing We provide a full in-house printing service for those trade customers who would like their wine list printed. Please contact the Sales Office for further details.
Sale or Return We are more than happy to supply wines on a Sale or Return basis to private account customers provided that wines are collected from our premises and any balance is returned likewise. Where collection by ourselves or carriers is necessary, a charge may be levied. Wines supplied on a sale or return basis will be invoiced in full at time of despatch and a credit note for returned wines will be issued only on receipt of wines into our cellars and not before.
Glasses We are able to lend wine glasses for functions and parties free of charge, provided that you are an account customer or you have purchased the wines from us. We would ask all customers to ensure that glasses are returned clean. For all breakages and un-washed glasses, we reserve the right to charge as follows: 80 pence per glass broken/ £7.50 per tray of glasses washed-up/£32.50 per lost tray.
Storage We are able to store customers' wines, on their behalf, duty-paid or under bond at Wickwar, Gloucs. We charge £6.90 + VAT per case per annum or part thereof with an insurance charge of 1% per annum of the wine's value based on historic cost. Please note that it is the customers' responsibility to insure their wines at present day values. Delivery of reserves is charged at the greater of £8.00 inc VAT per case or at cost.
Tastings We hold specific tastings for the trade throughout the year.
Normally, every November, we hold a tasting in East Devon for private customers. There are always one or more wines on taste in our Retail Shop in Ottery St. Mary.
Advice and Sourcing Our experienced staff are always happy to give advice on what and when to drink, wine as a potential investment, valuations and wine list selection.
If you are looking for a particular wine that we do not stock we will always try and source it for you by using our extensive network of contacts in the wine trade.
We reserve the right to make a charge of 1% of calculated value for valuations. Minimum charge £10.
