A luscious dessert wine with a clean, refreshing finish.

The Rymill family has long been associated with not only great wine but with horses which were bred initially on its ranch as remounts for the British cavalry in India, then as Australian Light Horse chargers in the Middle East. More recently the horses have served as both polo and show jumping champions.

The family enjoys a similar viticultural heritage. Peter Rymill's great-grandfather established the Coonawarra vineyards on the famous terra rossa in 1890. Today, from its distinctive winery, the Rymill family presents elegant and classic wines that reflect the perfect combination of unique soil and ideal climate for which the district has become renowned.

In 2007 the small Gewürztraminer vineyard was affected by naturally occurring Botrytis cinerea. The dry autumn allowed the grapes to ripen until very late in the season. This highly botrytised fruit, with its concentrated sugars and flavours, has produced a fresh and attractive wine with lovely almond and citrus rind aromas together with hints of spicy fruit. The palate displays a luscious composite of fresh green apples, dried apricots, prunes and pineapple characters, with hints of nutty, marmalade botrytis flavours.
