Cricket legends and fellow wine buffs Ian Botham and Bob Willis joined forces with one of Australia's top wine makers, Geoff Merrill, to launch their own range of fine wines. Botham Merrill Willis wines - BMW for short - was born out of the cricketers' mutual love of Australian wine, developed over many years during their tours Down Under with the England team.

A blend of grapes from selected vineyards in McLaren Vale and Coonawarra, the 2003 BMW Chardonnay displays citrus and melon fruit characters complimented by subtle vanillin oak and a crisp clean finish. While enjoyable now like good friendships this wine will improve with the passing of time.

BMW Chardonnay was fermented and aged in French & American oak for 9 weeks, which has added another dimension to the already smooth and complex palate structure. The absence of malolactic fermentation has preserved and intensified the abundant freshness of this Chardonnay.
