Grenache Rosé - 2007 - Geoff Merrill

A quite remarkable rosé. Deeply coloured - certainly not a blushing pink but then what self-respecting Australian rosé would be! On the palate there is a lovely strawberry boiled sweets flavour with good depth, length and extract. More akin to a Tavel rosé from France than anything else.

Geoff 's extensive winemaking experience commenced in Australia with B. Seppelt & Son, before a stint overseas with Stellenbosch Farmers winery in South Africa. On returning home Geoff headed towards the Southern Vales where he made some memorable wines at Chateau Reynella and Hardy's.

Having gained a reputation as a maker of innovative and elegant wines Geoff established his own business in 1980 and quickly achieved significant success in both Australian and International wine shows.

As a leading personality in the emerging Australian wine industry, Geoff also established a high profile internationally, most recently as consulting winemaker in Italy making wines for the UK market and as a respected judge at Australian and International wine shows.

Since 1980 Geoff Merrill Wines have been successful at National and International wine shows and have been awarded 23 Trophy's, 111 Gold, 280 Silver and 830 Bronze medals.
