Rich, medium bodied and fruit driven with spicy plum characters. This is a bold, yet very complex Pinot with a deep colour and a succulence that one does not often see in warmer climes.

Under the leadership of the late Murray Tyrrell, who strongly represented the interests of the Hunter Valley and its growers for over 40 years, this dynamic company has blossomed from an insignificant player to one of the most important of the few family-run firms still operating in Australia. Now under the direction of Bruce Tyrrell, wine-makers Andrew Spinaze and Mark Richardson, are producing an immaculate, utterly characterful range of wines of a consistently high quality. The Eclipse Pinot Noir is a newcomer to the Tyrrells, the vineyard being named after the ‘Eclipse’ mail ship which ran from Sydney to Maitland, in the Hunter Valley, in the 1820’s, providing an essential life-line to the early Hunter pioneers.
