From the most respected producer in Argentina comes this equal blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, very much a marriage of old and new world styles. It has a bouquet of cedar wood and ripe red fruit, with masses of spicy, yet harmonious, soft and supple flavours on the palate- a definite Bordeaux look-alike.

This winery, just outsude Luján de Cuyo, has long produced Argentina's most renowned reds. Most are aged for long periods in old oak. The old Malbecs can be almost port-like in terms of fruit and even the 20 year old wines seem to maintain their youth. Cavas de Weinert (Cabernet Sauvignon/Malbec/Merlot) is an impressively complex blend. Rich, ripe Cabernet Sauvignon ages well too, and even the relatively inexpensive Carrascal (Malbec/Cabernet/Merlot) shows lots of depth and character.
